I
am currently in my first school year at SUPMECA,
Superior Institute of Mechanics of Paris, where I study mechanics and
digital engineering. My school is mostly turned to aeronautics and aerospace,
and is member of ISAE Group (Superior
Institute of Aeronautics and Space). As part of my training, I have to validate a 4 to
5-months internship as an assistant engineer; therefore I share with you my
wish and my great motivation to carry it out here.
Studying or working in New Zealand or
Australia is a real dream for me for several reasons: it would allow me to
improve my English, to discover a new country, its traditions, its culture, its
way of life… but also to learn a lot regarding how is the world of work in
other countries or how do people study abroad. This would be a wonderful
occasion to live in a foreign country. Moreover, I know many students of my
school who did their internship in New Zealand and all of them fell in love
with it.
During
my first year 1-month internship in an aeronautical maintenance company, I
worked as a mechanic on a maintenance and repair line on military helicopters.
I put many techniques into practice and learned how to fix different mechanical
parts on the aircrafts. I could also take part in expert assessments, part
removal / relaying, parts modernization and diverse tests. This internship gave
me a taste of what the real world of work was and it allowed me to discover the
practical side of engineering.
A
year before, in the same firm, in the research department in Materials and
Processes, I participated in an aircraft mass reduction project. I was involved
in manufacturing process and new additive materials certification but also in conception,
production, integration, and tests realization, which taught me how to use CAD
software and how to lead diverse tests and machines.
Today, I would be
really interested in working in diverse fields such as aeronautics, aerospace,
naval, environment, civil engineering… This would permit me to widen my
abilities by exploring new sectors.
Passionate
about mechanics and science in general, motivated, involved and rigorous, I
wish to acquire new skills during this internship, which would allow me to
build a rich and indispensable basis for my professional training. On a more
personal level, as I love travelling (and rugby), it would give me the
opportunity to explore New Zealand or Australia and to meet another culture I
really hope to get to know.
